Effective Sunday 1st June 2025, Openreach is introducing a new Business Standard installation process for appointed orders requiring a site visit for SoGEA and FTTP services.

What’s changing?
Openreach will now require a minimum appointment type based on the premise type, either residential or non-residential (business), using Ordnance Survey classification data.
A non-residential (business) premise type will now require a Premium or Advanced appointment type. Only residential Properties will have Standard appointment types available.
We have updated ESS so that it will only show the available appointment types for the type of premises.
Why the Change?
Openreach’s analysis has shown that business premises often receive ‘Standard’ appointment types, but once on site, engineers find the job requires more extensive work. This has led to delays and higher costs. The new process ensures the correct appointment type is applied from the outset, allowing engineers to complete more jobs on their first visit.
What Appointment Types Include:
Standard Managed Install (Residential Only)
Install NTE socket within 1m of the nearest power socket to the point of entry to the building.
Connect Partner provided router
Connect 1 device*
Demonstrate sync speed to responsible adult (householder / proprietor)
Premium Managed Install
In addition to standard installation tasks
Install NTE socket up to 30m from the point of entry to the building.
Install up to 2 data extension kits
Advanced Managed Install
In addition to standard installation tasks
Connect the ONT inside the premises up to 100m from the Customer Splice Point (CSP). 100m includes the internal and external wiring distance from the CSP.
Provide one external wall drill and one internal non-concrete wall drill if required.
Use existing open cable tray work, work through ceiling or floor tiles that are removable and accessible and use in-situ cabling (structured cabling).
* Connectable devices include Set Top Boxes, PCs, Laptops and Smartphones, but does not include games consoles, Wi-Fi extenders, NAS, Servers or similar more complex devices. Devices not previously connected at the customer's premises will not be connected.
Eclipse Wholesale Pricing Update
In preparation for this new process, we implemented revised appointment type pricing on 1st April 2025 to support our partners and reduce overall costs for premium or advanced installs.
The pricing changes have already been communicated to you in your most recent reseller price list.
The changes are designed to make the transition smoother and more cost-effective while ensuring first-time installation success for your customers.
