We’re thrilled to bring you ‘Channel Corner with James Drake’, which is an exciting new video format designed to provide our partners, and the wider telecoms industry, with quick, real-time advice, insights and expertise straight from our Managing Director and the wider Eclipse team.

From industry changes and growth strategies to operational tips and partner-focused discussions, Channel Corner aims to become a valuable platform for sharing knowledge and sparking conversation. Our goal is to provide content that helps our partners stay informed and ready to tackle our ever-changing industry.
In this month’s Channel Corner, our Managing Director, James Drake, shares his thoughts on what has kept Eclipse Wholesale at the top of our game after more than two decades.
1. Hard Work
Quite simply, hard work. You don’t get anywhere without it.
Eclipse Wholesale has built our reputation on getting the job done by always going the extra mile to support our partners in their growth. This work ethic runs through every department. From the sales team supporting partners to the service desk handling queries, everyone at Eclipse Wholesale understands the importance of putting in the effort day after day. Establishing this culture of hard work and commitment has been instrumental in our success.
2. Consistency
The telecoms industry is fast-paced and constantly evolving, new technologies, regulations and customer expectations can shift the channel massively. That’s why consistency is key for succeeding in the long run. Consistency in our processes, responses and level of care is vital and what our partners value the most. Our partners know they can rely on the same high standard of service every time, whether it’s a simple billing query or a complex provisioning request.
3. Strategy
Over the years, many companies in the telecoms sector have expanded in multiple directions, whether that be in gas and electricity or energy and water, which can often hinder their focus. Eclipse Wholesale has taken a different approach and, in the last five years, has made a shift to a channel-only strategy, prioritising our focus on our partners.
By staying true to our channel-first strategy, Eclipse Wholesale has avoided distraction and stayed aligned with our mission. This has allowed us to refine our offering, build strong relationships and focus resources where they have the most impact. For partners, it means working with a provider that understands exactly who they serve and why.
4. Agility
The speed and volume of change in our industry mean you have to be willing and able to adapt quickly. Eclipse Wholesale has always been prepared to act fast, whether that’s introducing new products, responding to customer needs or refining internal processes.
That ability to pivot has been critical to Eclipse Wholesale’s longevity, especially when faced with many obstacles over the last few years, including the pandemic, PSTN switch off and supplier price increases.
