This April, Eclipse Wholesale took on the challenge of trekking the entire 84-mile length of Hadrian’s Wall to support Guide Dogs, our Charity of the Year. Over six days, our team set off from Bowness-on-Solway, following the remains of the wall to Wallsend, braving the elements to raise money for our ‘Name a Puppy’ campaign.

The route, steeped in history, follows the path of Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago. Our team experienced the incredible landscapes of northern England, trailing through farmland, rugged hills and the ancient ruins, providing the perfect backdrop for our route.

The entire Eclipse Wholesale team played a part in this challenge, whether by lacing up their boots and hitting the trail or supporting our fundraising from their desks. However, we weren’t alone as we were thrilled to be joined by long-standing channel partners including Giacom and Zen Internet. Their participation made this a true team effort, reflecting one of Eclipse Wholesale’s core values of teamwork.

On our final day at the end of leg six, we celebrated at Pitcher and Piano on the quayside, where we were joined by colleagues, friends and partners, along with a special visit from the Guide Dogs team and their fluffy friends.

Our partnership with Guide Dogs began in September last year when we announced them as our Charity of the Year at our 20th anniversary event. Since then, our team has worked hard to raise funds with the end goal of raising £2,500 that will give us the opportunity to name a guide dog puppy. Guide Dogs is a UK-based charity that provides a wide range of services to support people living with a vision impairment. Their vision is a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support to live their lives to the full.

Reflecting on the trek, our Managing Director, James Drake, described the experience “Taking on Hadrian’s Wall was physically demanding but an unforgettable experience. Seeing the support from our partners, colleagues, friends and family has been amazing. We’re proud to have exceeded our fundraising target and can’t wait to give a guide dog puppy their name”

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported our “Name a Puppy” campaign. As a result of their generosity, we have exceeded our fundraising target and are pleased to announce that we raised over £5,500. Stay tuned for updates as we reveal the name of our guide dog puppy…!
