We’re back with the fourth episode of our debut series, ‘Channel Corner with James Drake’, and it’s the final episode of 2025!
This month, we’re switching things up. Instead of tackling one of the big industry questions or hot topics, James is recapping on the past 12 months and celebrating what has been an incredible year here at Eclipse Wholesale.
Our 2025 highlights:
WLR Free:
We kicked the year off by completing our WLR switch off project. Although the deadline was extended to 2027, we made the decision to stick to the original timeline. After months of hard work and collaboration across all departments, and support from our vendors, we successfully migrated the majority of our legacy copper services by May 2025.
Now, with the transition behind us, Eclipse is in the perfect position to support other resellers and providers with their own migrations. We encourage anyone preparing for the switch off to reach out and we’d be more than happy to support or offer advice.
Hadrian’s Wall Challenge for Guide Dogs:
Next up was one of our biggest highlights of the year, our Hadrian’s Wall fundraising challenge for Guide Dogs. In April, the Eclipse team walked the full 84-mile length of the wall from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend. Joined by friends, family, colleague and suppliers, it was a true team effort and allowed us to raise just under £7,000 and name two guide dog puppies.
After such a successful first year, we’re pleased to be supporting Guide Dogs for another year. Stay tuned as we will be announcing our fundraising plans for 2026. James’ jumper may give a hint to our next big challenge…
Growing Team Eclipse:
This year also saw us grow both our customer service and sales teams, welcoming new colleagues who bring expertise and character to Eclipse. This growth ensures we continue to deliver the high-quality support to all our channel partners.
We also celebrated two well-deserved internal promotions. Sherri Lockey, who has been with us for over a decade was promoted to Head of Customer Service, and Matthew Begg was promoted to Sales Director.
Our First Annual Partner Event:
In September, we hosted our first-ever annual partner event at Live Theatre in Newcastle. Sponsored by five of our key partners, 8x8, CityFibre, ITS, Tekton Billing and Zen Internet, the day featured presentations from the Eclipse team and all sponsors, networking sessions and a celebration to close the afternoon.
We’ve received some great feedback from the day and we’re excited to share that the event will return next year, even bigger and better.
ITS Newcastle Network Launch:
To round off the year, we’re excited to bring a new full-fibre network to Newcastle via ITS. This exciting expansion will create huge opportunities across the city centre, allowing businesses to upgrade to faster, more reliable connectivity. We’re proud to be named ITS’ preferred strategic partner for the build.
That’s a wrap!
We’re so proud of all our achievements over the past 12 months and excited to continue delivering channel corner throughout the new year! If you have any questions or topics that you’d like James to cover, please submit here or contact [email protected].
Thanks for watching and see you in 2026.
